Methodist Healthcare has bought 18 Texas MedClinic urgent care facilities in the San Antonio area as part of HCA Healthcare’s acquisition of Texas MedClinic, a statewide network of 40 urgent care centers.
What is happening
Methodist Healthcare made the announcement Aug. 3, as Texas MedClinics have transitioned to CareNow Urgent Care, where services, including walk-in visits and extended hours, remain available for children three months and older, adults and seniors.
CareNow patients will continue to have access to online reservations, and there are no changes to accepted insurance or billing, according to a press release. Most locations still are open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., daily, while clinics at The Forum at Olympia Parkway, Wurzbach Road and Interstate 10, and Eisenhauer Road and Interstate 35 will continue to operate 24 hours a day.

Methodist Healthcare officials said in the release that the acquisition of Texas MedClinics expands Methodist’s services through the urgent care route, and connects patients to Methodist Healthcare’s hospitals and specialty services.
