Board Game Vault at the Silos
Having opened May 1, Board Game Vault offers a variety of immersive board and card gaming experiences. Available games are suited for guests ages 10-up. Visitors can reserve a gaming spot for two hours for $9 per person, and take advantage of food and drink menus, if they wish. Fresh food items range from sharables, such as fries, to Italian sliders and Philly cheesesteak quesadillas. A full bar features craft cocktails, beer, wine and mead. Patrons enjoying food and drinks but not using the game library are not charged a gaming entry fee.

Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce held an April 23 ribbon-cutting for this nationwide thrift and consignment retailer’s newest store, which sits just outside Windcrest. Red, White and Blue offers an array of high-quality, affordable apparel, home goods, and other items. The store, the first in the San Antonio area for this retailer, accepts only cash.

YMCA of Greater San Antonio is having an open house near Morgan’s Wonderland all-inclusive theme park now through May 8. Guests may explore new membership offerings, including access to courts for tennis and pickleball and group exercise classes, and access to Morgan’s Sports, the all-inclusive sporting complex that is now being operated by the local YMCA. The organization is also accepting memberships ahead of the Hartman Family YMCA opening on site in early 2027. Individuals with a permanent physical, intellectual, or developmental disability or special need may receive up to 100% waived (no cost) membership to participate. In-person registration is required.

Taroko Sports
Taroko Sports, a California-based chain of sports and entertainment destinations, recently announced it will open its first San Antonio location this summer at the Park North retail center, 618 N.W. Loop 410, Suite 108. San Antono will be Taroko Sports’ fourth U.S. location and its largest venue in the nation, a 31,000-square-foot complex offering batting cages, pitching mounds, HitTrax golf swing suites, miniature bowling, arcade games, and more. The venue also has private party suites available for special occasions, such as birthday parties, corporate outings, and team celebrations.
