H-E-B is beginning renovations of its Las Palmas store, which will stay fully operational during a project that will continue through late 2027.

According to a news release, improvements on the popular West Side grocery store will include a modernized storefront and a new interior layout.
Specifically, the updated store layout will expand the shopping area and existing departments, permitting a larger variety of items, the release stated.
The store’s floral and produce departments will be moved to the front of the store, and new product display cases and refrigeration will be placed across several departments. There will also be additional grab-and-go meals in the Meal Simple department, and a new Sushiya area, which will feature sushi and Asian grill items such as rice and noodle bowls.
Additionally, renovations will result in a bigger full-service H-E-B Pharmacy with two drive-thru lanes, designed to better accommodate an increased number of customers.
Other improvements include updated administrative areas, employee breakrooms, and customer bathrooms, as well as a relocation of the interior curbside staging area to the service’s dedicated parking spaces.
Outdoors, there will be upgrades to the storefront designed to refresh the architectural style of a structure that was originally built as a department store in the 1950s, and has undergone multiple rounds of improvements since the building began accommodating an H-E-B store in 1982.

Josh Sims, H-E-B Las Palmas store leader, said this new renovation project reflects the retailer’s commitment toward creating a welcoming store.
“We are eager to bring to our Las Palmas store a fresh look and updated shopping experience that this vibrant community will be proud of for years,” Sims said in a statement.
