NOW CLOSED

Painted Tree Boutiques

The national chain of indoor marketplaces abruptly closed, with company officials citing escalating operating costs, changing market conditions, and shifts in shopping habits as reasons for the closure of all venues. Company officials said that April 13 was the final day of business.

Painted Tree locations such as the San Antonio property at the Park North retail center housed dozens of independent vendors that offer various items, such as apparel, accessors, home decorations, food, and pet toys and treats. Many merchants reported being shocked by the sudden announcement, and having had to quickly remove their products.

In the wake of Painted Tree’s local closure, other local marketplaces such as Blanco Market SATX and The Weekend Market at Arbor Park are invited affected vendors for participation in their weekly or periodical markets.

Basila Frocks, a West Side mixed-use development, will host a pre-Fiesta vendor market especially designed for former Painted Tree vendors noon-6 p.m. April 17 at 502 N. Zarzamora St.
