San Antonio College theater students will perform a contemporary version of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth,” set in the world of drug cartels where the pursuit of power is fueled by ambition, violence and corruption. 7 p.m. Thu.-Sat., 2 p.m. Sun., Oct. 23-Nov. 2. Oct. 26

A performance of “The Lightning Thief” will be offered at the Carver Community Cultural Center. Adapted from the best-selling book and series by San Antonio author Rick Riordan, the play revolves around young Percy Jackson, the half-human/half-god who suddenly discovers he has incredible powers that he must use in order to find the master lightning bolt that someone has stolen from the mighty Zeus. 5 p.m. $31.90. Oct. 25

Oak Meadow United Methodist Church will host a craft fair. 10 a.m. Admission is free. 2740 Hunters Green St.

Oct. 30

Trick-or-treating will be offered at the Arbor Park retail center weekend market. Shoppers are encouraged to wear costumes, and enjoy Halloween-themed goodies from vendors, and other refreshments. Admission is free. 5-9 p.m. 17700 San Pedro Ave.

Oct. 30-Nov.1

“Lettered and Loved” fall market will feature 100-plus vendors offering vintage, vintage-inspired, handcrafted, gourmet and boutique shopping. There will be daily costume contests, a “sip and shop” with special guest Buddy the Elf, and other activities. Proceeds benefit the charity Love Kendall County Kids. 4-8 p.m. Oct. 30; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. Admission: $15 for three-day pass; $10 for Nov. 1 only. Nov. 1

Schertz Hometown Harvest is held every first Saturday in Pickrell Park, feature dozens of local vendors offering food and handcrafted various items, from apparel to home decor, as well as area ranchers and farmers offering fresh produce and meats. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Admission is free. 713 Oak St., Schertz.

Oct. 24

Fever presents “Candlelight with Vivaldi’s ‘Four Seasons’ and More,” a candlelight performance of Vivaldi’s renowned  group of four violin concerti, as well as other select classical compositions. Admission: $44.38. 3:45-5 p.m. Josephine Theatre, 339 W. Josephine St.

Schertz-Cibolo-Selma Lions Club will present its 15th annual casino night fundraiser, including food, music and auctions. 6:30-11 p.m. Schertz Civic Center, 1400 Schertz Pkwy. Individual tickets: $75; tables start at $400.

Oct. 26

Jacob Bourgeois and Polina Golubkova will sign copies of their children’s book, “Where a Cat Belongs: Murzyk’s Journey From Texas to Ukraine.” The book chronicles the true story of a street cat adopted in Texas who moved to Ukraine with his family only to find himself forced to flee his new home alongside other refugees – both human and animal – following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Admission is free. The 25th Uptown Art Stroll is a chance for visitors to the Olmos Park Terrace neighborhood, where more than 80 artists will be at 30 locations displaying and offering their handcrafted art works, jewelry and more. 10 a.m. Nov. 1, noon-5 p.m. Nov. 2. Oct. 24

Pedrotti’s Ranch will host its fifth annual fall fest, which will have live music, food, drinks, children’s activities, a live rodeo and more. 5-10 p.m. Tickets: $20 general admission, $10 children ages 4-12; $100 VIP. 13715 FM 1560 N., Helotes.

Oct. 24-26

SpaceCon San Antonio will feature autograph sessions and panels with dozens of celebrities from iconic television shows and movies, such as the “Star Wars” and “Star Trek” franchises, “Battlestar Galactica,” “The Flash,” “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,” and Marvel Cinematic Universe shows and films, including “Avengers: Endgame” and “Agents of SHIELD.” There will also be book signings, a cosplay contest and more. Oct. 25

Raindrop Foundation will present a Turkic Festival, a celebration of food, art, dance, music and culture of the Turkic peoples from Azerbaijan, Kirgizistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Turkiye, and Tajikistan. There will also be traditional decorations, art displays, and interactive workshops. Admission is free; food sold by tickets. Noon-6 p.m. 4337 Vance Jackson Road.

Oct. 25

Footbridge Foundation will present Dogtober, a pet adoption event that includes a pumpkin patch, photo opportunities, a foster pet parade, pet costume contest, puppy yoga, a children’s craft area, live music, food trucks, vendors and more. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Admission is free. Oct. 25

Pup Pup and Away will host Howl-O-Ween Fest, a pet-friendly event that will include a costume contest, a haunted pet agility course, a photo booth, “paw-im” readings and potion-making, games, shopping and more. 5-8 p.m. Admission is free. 3701 San Pedro Ave.

Oct. 25

Brackenridge Park Conservancy will present a family fishing day. More than 600 channel catfish will be released into the San Antonio River for junior anglers, their parents, and fishing enthusiasts. Poles, lessons, and light equipment will be provided, no fishing license required. A special contest will be held for participants under 16: the first fish caught and the biggest fish caught will each win a prize (fishing poles awarded). 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Admission is free. Brackenridge Park Joske Pavilion, off Tuleta Drive and Broadway Street.

Members of the public are invited to a charrette where attendees may offer suggestions on what exhibits and programming should be offered at the permanent brick-and-mortar San Antonio African American Community Archive and Museum, which is slated to open in 2027. Breakthrough T1D Walk is a family friendly event that encourages people of all ages to take part and raise awareness of and money for research into type-1 diabetes. Oct. 25-26

New Braunfels Jamboree Train Show will feature displays, presentations and more for budding enthusiasts and seasoned railroading fans. Children with a ticket get a free ride on the Landa Park train. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 25; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 26. Admission: $10 adults; $3 for children ages 5-12. New Braunfels Civic Center, 375 S. Oct. 26

Gruene Grove will put on its fourth annual Pup Pup Parade, which will have costumed pets, entertainment and refreshments. Parade participants’ admission is by donation. Proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of the New Braunfels Area. 3 p.m. Spectator admission is free. 1262 Gruene Road, New Braunfels.

Oct. 30

Pride San Antonio will hold a “Save Our Crosswalks” rally in a protest of Gov. Greg Abbott’s call to remove pride rainbow crosswalks from public streets in Texas. 6 p.m. Attendees are also asked to sign a petition that advocates saving rainbow crosswalks. Corner of North Main Avenue and Evergreen in the Tobin Hill neighborhood.

Nov. 1

Boerne Sunrise Rotary Club will hold a car show, featuring vintage and contemporary vehicles of all kinds. There will also be refreshments and a drawing. 9 a.m. Admission is free. Random, 11 Upper Cibolo Creek Road.

Nov. 2

Trails Fur Tails 5K encourages participants to run or walk through McAllister Park, and enjoy family- and pet-friendly activities, food, games, live music, visit with vendors and community organizations, even have a chance to take home a new pet. Proceeds benefit Alamo Area Partners for Animal Welfare (AAPAW), which provides support and veterinary funding for rescue groups in and around the San Antonio area. 9 a.m. Admission is free for spectators; fee is $35 for runners/walkers.
