Converse recently welcomed the launch of two national retailers’ storefronts in mid-November as part of the latest business openings in the San Antonio area.
Other new local enterprises include salons in La Vernia and Live Oak, a South Side credit union branch, a combination pickleball/padel/dining destination in New Braunfels, a creative studio on the Northwest Side, and a gym chain’s location in the Alamo Ranch neighborhood. Here’s a selection of such new local business rollouts.
Sherwin-Williams
The Ohio-based paints and coatings company recently opened a new store in Converse. The Converse Economic Development Corp. had a Nov. 21 grand opening event for the local Sherwin-Williams store, which also offers painting and coating tools, resources and special services.

Tractor Supply Co.
The Converse EDC held a Nov. 21 grand opening ceremony for the retailer, which offers a range of parts, resources, tools and services for mostly farmers, ranchers, and people living in small towns and suburban and rural areas. Offerings run the gamut from farm supplies, livestock feed and pet food to gardening and lawn care equipment.

Soarion Credit Union
A Nov. 18 grand opening event took place for Sorion’s new Southeast Side branch. Soarion offers an assortment of traditional banking services, as well as financial literacy and education. Celebrating the new Southeast Side location, San Antonio-based credit union is also offering up to $300 in special offers at that branch through Jan. 31, 2026.

A Nov. 17 grand opening ceremony was held for this salon and med spa’s new location. Bella Donna and Co. offers haircuts and styling, color services, extensions, eyelash services, facials, waxing and nails. Membership plans with benefits are also available.

Project Cowork
The local coworking and conference center held a Nov. 20 grand opening for its new Northwest Side location, which has 49 private offices for teams of up to 10 people, team suites, conference rooms, and a training room. Members have access to free coffee and tea, on-site managers, presentation tools, furnished offices, and special meals and events.

FarrWest Specialty Vehicles
A grand opening event was held Nov. 14 for FarrWest’s new store in Universal City’s Northlake Industrial Park. FarrWest provides custom fabrication and builds for first responder agencies, and environmental service and construction companies. These installations include emergency lighting, truck accessories, radio communications, and motorcycle equipment.

Club Studio Fitness
Northwest San Antonio Chamber of Commerce held a Nov. 14 ribbon-cutting event for this fitness chain’s first San Antonio location. In addition to traditional weight-training and cardio opportunities, Club Studio Fitness has functional training equipment such as battle ropes and suspension trainers, a lap pool, and a basketball court. Other offerings include a steam room, dry heat sauna, whirlpool spa, cryo therapy, med spa, and a cafe featuring organic superfood.

Woodland Cottages
Northwest San Antonio Chamber of Commerce hosted a Nov. 13 grand opening event for Woodland Cottages, a cottage-style retirement community. This is Woodland Cottages’ fourth development to open in Texas, and its first in San Antonio. The low-maintenance community includes one- and two-bedroom pet-friendly units with a laundry room, zero-threshhold showers, luxury finishes and modern appliances. Some select units have attached garages and fenced yards. Residents also have access to on-site social activities, and amenities, such as a game room, clubhouse, fitness center and housekeeping service.

The Courthouse
Having opened in early November, The Courhouse combines sports, dining and social entertainment all in one place. Offerings feature six indoor pickleball courts, four outdoor padel courts, chef-driven pub grub with Tex-Mex and Hill Country flares, a full bar with craft cocktails, and a variety of activities, such as family movie nights, karaoke, open mic nights, trivia games, DJs, and live music. The Courthouse also offers pickleball and padel leagues and clinics, to-go food orders, a children’s play area, and spaces for private celebrations.

Crown and Crook
Aircraft electrician Melissa Crook founded this creative studio, where a Nov. 15 grand opening celebration was held. Crown and Crook offers private parties, workshops and other activities where people can learn or nurture their maker talents, such as wood sign painting, hat burning and embellishment, and crafting porch leaners and sun catchers.

Oh My Fido Spa and Retreat
A Nov. 15 grand opening event was held for this Stone Oak dog grooming and spa shop, where a new owner has taken over operations. In addition to the various grooming and spa packages, Oh My serves cats, too, and provides boarding.

Academy Sports and Outdoors
The retailer formally opened a new, $4 million New Braunfels location on Nov. 21, offering special deals and giveaways over grand opening weekend.

The owners of this new nail salon celebrated their grand opening in mid-November in La Vernia. Lavie offers a variety of pedicures and waxing services and massages. Patrons may also get a mimosa, wine, champagne or non-alcoholic beverage while they receive service.

Lucky Strike
Bowlero, the bowling and social entertainment chain, was rebranded as Lucky Strike in late 2024. The north San Antonio location of Bowlero officially became Lucky Strike on Oct. 31. Lucky Strike offers 48 bowling lanes, an array of accessible amenities, and various arcade games and other activities, such as billiards, for the whole family.
